Explore Nature and Coffee Culture
The 1° Antioquia Bird Festival is an international birding and nature event born in Jardín, Antioquia, one of Colombia’s most remarkable destinations for birdwatching.
Over three days, birders, photographers, researchers, nature travelers, families, and wildlife enthusiasts come together to discover the region’s extraordinary biodiversity while experiencing the culture, landscapes, and unique character of Jardín.
The festival brings together birdwatching outings, conferences and forums, cultural activities, and a commercial showcase, creating a space where knowledge meets discovery and where everyone can connect with birds in their own way.

Location
Jardín, Antioquia, Colombia
With over 300 bird species recorded in the area, Jardín is home to an incredible variety of ecosystems ranging from 1,400 to 3,300 meters (4,600 to 10,800 feet) above sea level, including tropical forests, cloud forests, rivers, and high-altitude Andean mountains.
This remarkable biodiversity provides opportunities to encounter spectacular birds such as the Andean Cock-of-the-rock, Oilbird, Yellow-eared Parrot, Mountain Toucans, colorful tanagers, hummingbirds, and numerous endemic and range-restricted species.
One of Jardín’s greatest attractions is how easily some of these incredible birds can be observed and photographed at close range in nature reserves, hummingbird gardens, and carefully managed feeding stations. Other species invite visitors to explore pristine mountain trails, rivers, and cloud forests in search of unforgettable wildlife encounters.
Jardín is much more than a birdwatching destination. It is an extraordinary experience where biodiversity, coffee culture, traditional architecture and the charm of one of Colombia’s most beautiful towns come together in one unforgettable place.
